How can it be that Christians are still afraid and worry? The answer is because we don't rely completely on our faith in Christ and His Word. Trials and tribulations that we face in our daily lives weaken our ability to possess that mustard seep of faith, until the point that our faith can become literally non-existent.

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
And the power of his might"
- Ephesians 6:10 -

The scripture above is a commandment, given by God through Paul, that not only has resonance with the Church in Ephesians at that time, but for everyone who is living in these end times.

We must make the decision to stand firm for the Lord and no one else! God has already provided all the spiritual strength we need in His Word. If we choose to stand firm in the Lord, we will also have the power to overcome all of life's struggles.

Satan will forever try to poison your mind and deceive you, (remember when Satan tried to destroy Jesus by giving His own corrupt ideas and opinions?) but when the Word of God is firmly rooted, we are able to filter the true voice of God from the snares of the enemy.

Jesus used the Word of God to counter every scheme of the devil. Jesus told the devil many times "it is written" this means that every way a child can prevail over the enemy is already written in His Word. This is the importance of the Word of God in a Christian's life. Aside from the Word of God, our true strength in Christ can only be attained after we have been baptized by the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8)

What must we do as children of God to evade the traps set by Satan? A clear answer can be found in Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

When Paul wrote these verses we can imagine a strong Roman soldier, all His armor and weapons equipped. So we are at out strongest when we use the entire armor of God and not just bits and pieces. It's not enough for us to say "I'll just use the helmet of salvation” or "I'm already full of the Holy Spirit, that's good enough for me." If we think like that, we'll end up with nothing but problems. As a soldier we must be able to understand what is being demanded of us by our leader, our leader being Jesus Christ. How can a soldier set foot onto the battle field without His full set of armor on? He will most definitely lose. Being children of God, if we choose not to use the complete armor of God, we will quickly fall.

In reality the devil has no power over us because Satan could never overcome the awesome power of God. He can only try to influence us, if we leave the door open for the devil to enter, even slightly, don't be surprised when your life is in shambles. For Satan is evil, a deceiver, and the father of all lies. He will lead us to believe our relationship with God is fine, at the exact moment we are walking into destruction and failure.

It is so important for us to surrender our lives totally to the Lord, and be lead by the Holy Spirit as the supreme guidance for our lives. Then we can truly become soldiers that own the entire arsenal of the armor of God. Living with the fear of the Lord and the confidence of knowing we possess the power of God.

Love in Christ,
